Course Description:	The course provides an overview of business in Europe and an examination of specific issues related to foreign companies doing business in Europe. Specific topics include the European business environment, European Union institutions, legal framework and policies, the growth of the European Union, emerging European economies, business strategy for the European market, marketing strategy in Europe, managing cultural diversity in Europe, human resource management issues in Europe, and corporate governance and control in Europe. The aim of the course is to enhance students’ understanding of the European business environment, the organisation of the European Union and its associated policies, and their impact upon the business and marketing strategies of firms in Europe.
Learning Outcomes:	By the end of this course students will be able to understand, analyse and evaluate the organisation of the EU and the European business environment, particularly aspects of cultural differences and European integration and its impact on the strategies, organisation and management of private firms in Europe. Students will be able to communicate their understanding in a clear and concise way through exams, group and individual assignments and tutorial participation.

Workload:	2 x 1 hour lectures, 1hour tutorial plus private study time.
