The Australian National University and the University of South Australia are offering ten high achieving undergraduate students at each university the opportunity to develop their research skills through the ANU/UniSA Summer Research Scholarships program. This initiative is part of the universities' commitment to the development of future research excellence in Australia.

Ten students from ANU will be offered the opportunity of going to the University of South Australia from late November to late January to undertake eight weeks of supervised research. Likewise, ten students from the University of South Australia will travel to ANU for the summer program.

If you are a full time undergraduate student, currently enrolled in the third (or final) year of an undergraduate degree program at ANU, you can apply for the scholarship below.

Scholarship Benefits

An ANU/UniSA Summer Research Scholarship for ANU students includes:

• Travel stipend (includes return travel to South Australia and daily travel from the accommodation provider, St Ann's College, to UniSA)
• Accommodation at St Ann's College
• Weekly stipend
• An opportunity to undertake a short research project at UniSA

Duration

Eight weeks (between late November 2008 and late January 2009).

Eligibility

Applicants must be currently enrolled full time in the third (or final) year of an undergradute degree at ANU.

Conditions of Award

Study Areas

ANU Students going to UniSA can apply to work in the following priority areas:

• Minerals and Materials Science
• Population Health
• Telecommunications
• Environment
• Social Sustainability

OR to work on a specific UniSA SRS project.

The application deadline has been extended until Friday 12 September 2008

Step 1 - Fill out the ANU/UniSA SRS online application form
Please note that you must hit the ‘Submit' button at the end of the form - you should receive an acknowledgement message once you have done so. If you do not receive this message, please contact leanne.harrison@anu.edu.au

Step 2 - Send an electronic copy of your ANU academic transcript to: leanne.harrison@anu.edu.au

Step 3 - You will need to ask two academic referees at ANU to write an email/letter of support for your application. The email/letter of support should be sent direct to: leanne.harrison@anu.edu.au
