| Course Description: |
This is a research course for students who have completed Advanced Arabic A or equivalent. The Resarch essay should be completed in line with the guidelines provided to the student. Focus will be on a research essay on a topic related to Arabic Studies, Middle Eastern Studies or Islamic Studies. |
| Learning Outcomes: |
By the end of this course students will be able to: - Demonstrate knowledge of some aspects of advanced Arabic writing styles.
- Demonstrate proficiency in more complex written syntactic and discourse structures and extend their capacity to use such structures appropriately to undertake a small-scale research on a topic related to Arabic Studies, Middle Eastern Studies or Islamic Studies.
- Demonstrate their ability to present their findings in a scholarly manner in Arabic.
- Demonstrate advanced linguistic skills and functional understanding of Arabic Language.

2,500 word essay in Arabic due at the end of semester (50%) 30-minute oral presentation on essay topic (50%) |
