Course Description:

(a) A research thesis of 15,000 words on an approved topic; 40%.
(b) Either two one-semester courses or a Gallery/ Museum Internship of two semester’s duration and one one-semester course; each 30%. In 2009 the semester course topics will be:

(1) History of Art History
First Semester
Lecturer: Professor Sasha Grishin
Assessment: Seminar papers and essays; 30%.

(2) Thematic Seminar
Second Semester
Lecturer: Dr Hwei-Fen Cheah
Assessment: Seminar papers and essays; 30%

Students are expected to consult with the honours course coordinator  about their choice of thesis topic, and are required to seek approval for their topics and arrange supervision with a member of staff.

A student may commence Art History IV (Honours) in the second semester.
