Course Description:

Students are required to conduct a substantial individual research project under academic supervision, with a formal thesis being submitted and presentation of a seminar.  This is an annual course and students must enrol in it in both Semester 1 and Semester 2.

Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of the research project, the student will be able to:

  1. prepare and present a short technical seminar
  2. write a literature survey
  3. undertake and complete a research project under supervision
  4. write a thesis describing the results of research work
Indicative Assessment: Presentation: 10%, Thesis: 90%
Workload: No formal contact is required in this course.
