| Course Description: |
Provide a complete introduction to the world of electronic commerce, with a balanced coverage of business and technical topics. Students are introduced to both the theory and practice of doing business over the Internet and the World Wide Web. Topics covered include: infrastructure, tools, software, on-line payment methods, Web design issues and an introduction to various business models. |
| Learning Outcomes: |
By the end of this course, students are expected to have attained a knowledge of or proficiency in the following areas: - Web engineering and its associated evaluation
- E-Business models, infrastructure and software
- The context in which e-business is conducted and be able to explain the likely impact of external forces on e-business outcomes

The assessment for this course will negotiated with students, but is likely to include multiple major pieces of assessment due throughout the teaching period. |
| Workload: |
Teaching for this course is likely to be in the format of one 3 hour seminar per week; however, enrolment numbers may dictate that it be run differently. Students will also be expected to put in up to 5 hours of their own time outside of class focussing on individual research. |
