MEDI1002 Block 2: Cardiorespiratory and Renal Block 3: Endocrinology and Reproduction |
| Learning Outcomes: |
On completion of Block 2 students should: - Understand the structure and function of the cardiovascular, respiratory and renal (CRR) systems of the human body.
- Be cognisant of the common diseases of the cardiovascular, respiratory and renal systems
- Appreciate the interaction between the CRR systems to maintain homeostasis, and the consequences of CRR pathology.
- Be acquainted with the diagnosis and management of common CRR disorders and disease.
- Have a perspective of the burden of disease on society involving the CRR systems.
- Have a population health perspective on evaluating risk.
- Develop an awareness of the interplay between conscience or personal morality and institutional aspects of medical ethics.
On completion of Block 3 students should: - Understand the relationship between the structure and function of the endocrine system
- Understand the structure and function of male and female reproductive systems.
- Understand the interactions between endocrine and reproductive systems.
