This is an intensive program designed for those who are seeking academic preparation for a career in archaeology. The coursework will comprise a range of advanced courses dealing with practical (field, laboratory and quantitative practice and analysis), theoretical, thematic and regional aspects of prehistoric and historic archaeology. Prerequisites Applicants for the Graduate Diploma in Arts program should have obtained a Bachelor degree from an approved tertiary education institution, with at least six Credit level grades (60% or better) in courses other than first year courses. The Graduate Diploma in Arts and the Master of Arts specialising in Archaeology are integrated to allow students who achieve an average grade of Distinction or higher (min. 70%) in the Graduate Diploma to transfer to the Master program. Requirements Candidates are required to complete courses to the value of 36 units (normally 6 courses) taught in the area of their specialisation. |
