The Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS) at The Australian National University was established in response to widespread expressions of concern about scientific literacy and the image of science. It brings together scientists, science communicators, journalists and people in industry to raise the public awareness of science.  CPAS also operates within the expanding world of interactive science centres through Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre. The graduate programs offered by CPAS are intended for graduates wanting to enter the profession of science communication or for those already employed who are interested in further developing their communication skills.

The Graduate Diploma in Science Communication is an exciting one year postgraduate scholarship program in communication, for science, engineering and technology graduates. Jointly run by the Australian National University's Centre for the Public Awareness of Science and Questacon - The National Science and Technology Centre, the program includes travel to regional areas of Australia staffing the Shell Questacon Science Circus.

If you have a science-related degree from a recognised university or equivalent institution and the ability to communicate with people you are eligible to apply. Please note that selected scholars will be required to have a current drivers licence at the time of enrolment and that a police records check will be undertaken.
