  <degree-structure>&lt;p&gt;The &lt;strong&gt;Master of Diplomacy&lt;/strong&gt; degree compromises the following 4 compulsory courses:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Transnational Diplomacy (12 units);&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Contemporary Challenges in Diplomacy: Politics, Economics, Law &amp;amp; Strategy (12 units);&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Case Studies in Diplomacy (6 units); and&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (6 units)&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Students will also receive 12 units of advanced standing (credit) towards the 48 unit Master of Diplomacy after having completed the Master of Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;NOTE: The Master of Diplomacy degree is offered only to fulltime students.   <introduction>&lt;p&gt;The Master of Diplomacy Combined Degree Program is a key under-taking of the &lt;a href="http://apcd.anu.edu.au"&gt;Asia-Pacific College of Diplomacy&lt;/a&gt; and is composed of two Master degrees.  The first Master Degree can be in a range of specified areas in which a knowledge of contemporary diplomacy would be an advantage.  (This first degree is referred to as your ?field of study?   <pre-requisites>&lt;p&gt;For admission to a combined program which includes the MDipl, an applicant must satisfy the criteria for admission to the related Field of Study degree whose coursework comprises the first part of the combined program.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To be permitted to enter the MDipl component of the combined program, an applicant must complete the coursework requirements of the related Field of Study degree with a distinction average across all courses (including the sub-thesis in the MA(MECAS)).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Students enrolled in a &amp;lsquo;Field of Study&amp;rsquo; degree as a separate enrolment may transfer to the relevant combined program provided that the first degree has not been awarded.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The structure of the &amp;lsquo;Field of Study&amp;rsquo; component of the program will be as approved for the single program for that award with the exception that a student whose &amp;lsquo;Field of Study&amp;rsquo; degree has a thesis component will normally prepare and submit the thesis after undertaking the coursework for the Master of Diplomacy degree.  Since the degree of Master of Arts (Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies) consists of 36 units of coursework and a 36 unit  thesis, students undertaking this degree who wish to continue to the Master of Diplomacy degree will be required to complete the thesis as well as the coursework component before being permitted to proceed.&lt;/p&gt;</pre-requisites>
  <requirements>&lt;p&gt;Although students enter into the Master of Diplomacy Combined Degree Program from the beginning of their studies, they can only proceed into the Master of Diplomacy upon gaining a distinction average in the coursework of their Master of Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Students are then awarded both degrees at a single award ceremony.&lt;/p&gt;</requirements>
