<p>The <strong>Master of Diplomacy</strong> degree compromises the following 4 compulsory courses:</p><p><a href="http://studyat.anu.edu.au/courses/DIPL8001;details.html">DIPL8001</a> Transnational Diplomacy (12 units)<br /><a href="http://studyat.anu.edu.au/courses/DIPL8002;details.html">DIPL8002</a> Contemporary Challenges in Diplomacy: Politics, Economics, Law & Strategy (12 units<br /><a href="http://studyat.anu.edu.au/courses/DIPL8003;details.html">DIPL8003</a> Case Studies in Diplomacy (6 units)<br /><a href="http://studyat.anu.edu.au/courses/DIPL8004;details.html">DIPL8004</a> Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (6 units) </p> Students will also receive 12 units of advanced standing (credit) towards the 48 unit Master of Diplomacy after having completed the Master of Public Administration. <p>NOTE: Studies commence in the summer session (January-February) and conclude at the end of the following first semester (end of June).</p> The program structure for the <strong>Master of Public Administration</strong> degree is [here|7808XMPA].

<p>The Master of Diplomacy Combined Degree Program is a key under-taking of the <a href="http://apcd.anu.edu.au">Asia-Pacific College of Diplomacy</a> and is composed of two Master degrees. The first Master Degree can be in a range of specified areas in which a knowledge of contemporary diplomacy would be an advantage. (This first degree is referred to as your field of study Master Degree.)</p> <p>Areas of study which can be covered in the field of study degree include: International Relations, Strategic Affairs, International Law, Middle Eastern & Central Eastern Studies, Public Policy, International & Development Economics, Asia-Pacific Studies or Environmental Development.</p> <p>The Master of Diplomacy/Master of Public Administration is one of these combined degree options and is composed of <strong>coursework only</strong>.</p> <p>The Program is ideal for those whose professional role involves a solid understanding of transnational diplomacy, and its contemporary challenges, whether this be with a civil service department, multilateral body, international corporation or non-government organization.</p> <p><strong>Admission Requirements</strong><br />For admission to the Master of Diplomacy/Master of Public Administration, applicants must satisfy the [Master of Public Administration Admission Requirements|7808XMPA].</p>

Master of Diplomacy/Master of Public Administration
For admission to a combined program which includes the MDipl, an applicant must satisfy the criteria for admission to the related Field of Study degree whose coursework comprises the first part of the combined program.<br /><br />To be permitted to enter the MDipl component of the combined program, an applicant must complete the coursework requirements of the related Field of Study degree with a distinction average across all courses.<br /><br />Students enrolled in a ‘Field of Study’ degree as a separate enrolment may transfer to the relevant combined program provided that the first degree has not been awarded.
<p>Although students enter into the Master of Diplomacy Combined Degree Program from the start of their studies, they can only proceed into the Master of Diplomacy upon gaining a distinction average in the coursework of their Master of Public Administration.</p> <p>Students are then awarded both degrees at a single award ceremony.</p>
