  <course-description>&lt;p&gt;This course deals with the practicalities of working in development. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It will critically examine the key institutional actors that implement development projects: NGOs, bilateral, and multilateral donors. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Within this broader institutional environment the course will critically examine the institutional processes and priorities, the role of advocacy, the ethics of development practice, how development workers operate in the field, and how development projects are conceived and managed. &lt;/p&gt;</course-description>
