3111 This program of concentrated study provides a study program, by coursework and individual practice over one year full-time (or equivalent part-time), in the use of new digital sound and / or image technologies for artistic, commercial or scientific perceptualisation purposes. Whilst developing technical facility, the underlying principle of the program is the development of aesthetic sensibilities in the artistic use of computers.Students may specialise in Interactive Digital Media or Computer Music. Through its affiliation with other disciplines in the College of Arts & Social Sciences opportunities are also provided for interdisciplinary studies.

Master of New Media Arts

Applicants are expected to have completed an appropriate three year undergraduate qualification at a high level of achievement, to have demonstrated significant achievement in their field of practice, and to possess high level creative, analytical and critical skills.In exceptional circumstances professional experience and standing in the field may be taken as equivalent qualification for admission to the course. There is no provision for advanced standing.Concurrent studies cannot be taken without prior approval, nor can a full-time candidate undertake concurrent full-time employment.APPLICATIONSA Postgraduate Coursework application should be made using the forms available at this link <a href="http://www.anu.edu.au/sas/forms">www.anu.edu.au/sas/forms</a> and must be accompanied by evidence of meeting the admission requirements. An admission panel will review applications and may recommend a requirement of other specific preliminary or concurrent study it deems necessary.All applications must be accompanied by a portfolio of work.The guidelines for presentation of a portfolio are flexible. Works do not need to be constrained to a digital format, and may consist of any or several of the following:<ul><li>DVD - Video </li><li>Executable Data CD </li><li>Audio CD</li><li>Online </li><li>Portfolio of visual work </li><li>Evidence of written work </li></ul>The MNMA program has only one intake per year in February, (Semester 1) with the ANU academic year running from February through to November.Local applicants should download the <a href="http://cass.anu.edu.au/graduates_coursework.php">MNMA Applicant Interview Form</a> and email the completed form to the <a href="mailto:cnma@anu.edu.au">Centre for New Media Arts</a> by November 10, 2007.
